CSK batting first, had a good start ..however at 39 runs, wicket of Vidyut was taken by Y.Pathan. He took 3 wickets of CSK giving away just 22 runs in his 4 over spell. he took wicket of Vidyut, Morkel & Patel. P.Patel played a good inning & S.Raina too supported his team to reach a respectable score of 163.
When RR came to bat at D.Y.Patil stadium, They were on backfoot..& their score was 42-3...however, Y.Pathan showed his class by hitting 56 runs off just 39 balls including 4 sixes & 3 fours..he was given DLF maximum sixes award & man of the match too.wicket of RR fell at regular interval after the wicket of Y.Pathan.
In last over skipper Warne & Tanvir were batting..they needed 8 runs off 6 balls...& somehow they managed to get it....& RR became first champion team of DLF IPL 2008 History. They won by 3 wickets.
