Security review after blast

Monday, September 29, 2008

The Australian team had just finished the day's play when they huddled into a little team meeting. It wasn't about the batting collapse but there was some concern amongst the players about the news that there had been another bomb blast in Delhi - the venue for the third Test.

According to sources, security advisors of the Australian team got into touch with Cricket Australia officials and Australian Players Association and are in talks about the future course of action. There has been an immediate review of the security near the team, both by the police forces and independently by the Australian security officer. And though there's little danger to the tour being aborted, any further mishap could force serious action from the tourists.

"We have just been informed about the blast. Our security guys are in liaison with officials back home. They'll let us to know what they think, maybe tomorrow," Simon Katich said.
