Sachin breaks World Record--Ind-Aus test 2

Saturday, October 18, 2008

Sachin Tendulkar became the highest test-run scorer by surpassing Brian Lara's record on Friday but India were wobbling at 199-4 after tea in the second test against Australia.
Tendulkar scored three runs after tea on day one to move on to 16, giving him a career record of 11,955 runs. West Indian Lara scored 11,953 runs before he retired from international cricket in 2007.
The 35-year-old took off his helmet, raising his bat to acknowledge the cheering crowd before partner Saurav Ganguly and the entire Australian team came up to congratulate him.
Crackers were set off outside the stadium, holding up play for a few minutes.
